Development of state space model and control design of two-mass system using standard forms

Abstract: Ahstract-This paper presents dynamic analysis of a two-mass system using speed controller. In order to improve the dynamic performance, a modified PID (MPID) controller is suggested and compared with only PID controller. The coefficient diagra m method (COM) technique is applied to design controllers in two-mass system. The dynamic analysis is verified by transfer function simulation using Matlab and time domain simulation of the two-mass system.
