Development of Sound-Insulationboard Consisting of a Thin Steel Plate and Additional Small Weights

Abstract

1n a previous work ， it was shown that attaching small weights tD a membrane impr 〔 ｝ ves the sound insula し ion in a ［ ew − frequency range ， This mechanism can be apphed to a plate under the condition that the thickness o 『ヒ he plate is thin ． This paper is concerned with the deve 皇 opment of a sound ・ insulation board using the steel plate with additional weights ， and resuh of a preliminary examination fbr rhe confirmation of mechanism ， sound −insulation examination in reverberation rooms ， and an application to practical noise contro ［ ar ζ shown ， lt is then verified that this materiat is useful for noise contro ］ in u low ・ frequency range ．
