Two Latin American experiences were presented: the development of SICA-COR, Costa Rica's food composition information system, which is compatible with the methodology proposed by LATINFOODS (Blanco-Metzler et al, 2009); and TBCA-USP/BRASILFOODS, the Brazilian food composition information system, which contains, in addition to the regular information, data on carbohydrates individually analyzed and glycemic response, and it adopted the INFOODS tagnames (Menezes et al, 2009) as well.
