“…This hypothesis may be observed, as items 11, 13, 17, and 26 showed a factor loading below 0.45 during the original validation and further adaptations (Ho et al, 2015;King et al, 2007;Mizuno et al, 2017;Morandi et al, 2013).…”

“…This strategy revealed a consistent and growing body of works restricted to five instruments. However, we identified that the use of these instruments is sometimes incongruent with the original purposes of the measure (Mizuno et al, 2017;Vass, Sitko, West, & Bentall, 2017;Wood & Irons, 2017). “…The 3-factor solution of the SS was also found by other authors, using samples of patients with mental disorders from several different countries, such as Switzerland, 25 Iran, 26 Chine, 27 and Japan. 28 The items with acceptable loading in Disclosure (F1) corresponded almost completely to those of this factor in the original version, 7 except for three items that are part of Discrimination and that involve feelings of isolation/loneliness (item 11), feelings about the injustice of life (item 26) due to the fact of having a mental illness, and non-disclosure of mental health problems due to the fear of people's reactions (item 17).…”
