The European climate law contains a mandatory EU climate target of reducing emissions in the EU by at least 55% by 2030; to realistically implement it, a transformation of many economic sectors is required. The main solutions focus on energy production. However, an equally important aspect is its storage. It represents the biggest challenge to ensure the stability of energy use in the real estate market. Today, lithium-ion batteries are the most promising batteries. They have the advantages of high efficiency during the charge–discharge process, and high density of electrical energy. The potential range of electric vehicles on a single charge depends on the battery. Accumulator batteries, depending on their purpose, are assembled from a certain number of lithium-ion cells. At the same time, the battery connection scheme depends on what the goal is. This can be an increase in battery capacity, an increase in voltage, or a combination of both parametric characteristics of the device. This approach and research results can be implemented not only in the automotive field, but also in industry, the real estate market, etc.

“…However, Poland is by far the largest country of the entire Visegrad Group, and if the number of inhabitants of individual countries is taken into account, these differences become blurred (Olczak & Komorowska, 2021). The Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2019 achieved the share of renewable energy planned for 2020, which may have contributed to the fact that the authorities of these countries were not willing to create conditions for the development of, among other things, photovoltaics (Duda et al, 2022). Possible penalties that could be imposed on Poland and Hungary for failure to achieve the assumed share of RES could constitute a serious burden for these countries.…”

The countries of the Visegrad Group (V4) face serious challenges related to increasing the share of renewable energy sources (RES) and the energy mix. One of the elements connected with the achievement of higher use of RES is the development of photovoltaics. The countries of the Visegrad Group still have untapped potential to increase energy production based on photovoltaic installations. However, this will require the implementation of solutions that will, on the one hand, encourage investors to choose this type of RES, and on the other hand, invest in obsolete transmission networks and energy storage. The aim of the article is to analyse the conditions related to the development of photovoltaics in the Visegrad Group countries, with particular emphasis on the further development of RES until 2030. The article also demonstrates the potential of solutions associated with the adaptation of industrial networks to the changing conditions in this sector (e.g. the growing number of prosumers). Moreover, the importance of storing energy from photovoltaic installations was emphasized, which will allow the stabilization of the energy system.

Photovoltaics is one of the key technologies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving climate neutrality for Europe by 2050, which has led to the promotion of solar parks. These parks can span up to several hundred hectares, and grassland vegetation is usually created between and under the panels. Establishing species-rich grasslands using native seed mixtures can enhance a variety of ecosystem services, including pollination. We present an overall concept for designing native seed mixtures to promote pollinators, especially wild bees, in solar parks. It takes into account the specific site conditions, the small-scale modified conditions caused by the solar panels, and the requirement to avoid panel shading. We highlight the challenges and constraints resulting from the availability of species on the seed market. Furthermore, we provide an easy-to-use index for determining the value of native seed mixtures for wild bee enhancement and apply it as an example to several mixtures specifically designed for solar parks. The increased availability of regional seed would allow a more thorough consideration of pollinator-relevant traits when composing native seed mixtures, thereby enhancing ecosystem services associated with pollinators such as wild bees.
