Development of Recommendation Content to Enhance Decision-Making in the Educational Discipline Design Process

Abstract

This article presents an algorithm for recommending content in educational disciplines used at ITMO University. The primary objective of the algorithm is to enhance the process of designing syllabi, thereby increasing their efficiency and effectiveness. The authors of the research have developed an algorithm based on an analysis of user interactions with the Educational Program Maker and the available educational materials. The recommendation algorithm is built upon a thorough analysis of prerequisite requirements and learning outcomes for each discipline. By incorporating user interaction data with the Educational Program Maker and the discipline-specific content, the algorithm can identify the most suitable educational materials to support the learning process. This, in turn, assists educational program developers in creating well-structured and coherent syllabi. The research findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the content recommendation algorithm, which contributes to the improvement of educational program design at ITMO University. The authors emphasize the importance of utilizing user interaction data and accessible content to provide accurate and personalized content recommendations throughout the educational process. This article holds significant practical value for educational program developers and professionals involved in the field of education, enabling them to optimize the design and maintenance of academic disciplines based on the content recommendation algorithm.
