“…7,8 Optical sensors have gained significant attention in the realm of sensor technology, particularly within different sub-categories that are based on their detection systems. [9][10][11] This is mainly due to their minimal device requirement and, in some cases, no device requirement at all, especially in visual applications. 12 The remarkable importance of sensors lies in their ability to enable the engineering of a substrate with a specific design to detect and analyze the desired analyte, particularly under unique or specific conditions.…”

“…To investigate enzyme activity and establish the relationship between Fe–CeO 2 /MITiO 2 and enzyme steady-state kinetic parameters, a study of the Michaelis–Menten behaviors was conducted using TMB as the substrate. The Michaelis–Menten equation, V 0 = ( V max [S])/( K m + [S]), was employed to determine the initial velocity ( V 0 ), maximal reaction velocity ( V max ), the concentration of TMB substrate ([S]), and the Michaelis constant ( K m ). , By performing a series of nonenzymatic experiments on Fe–CeO 2 /MITiO 2 , the concentration of the TMB substrate was varied while keeping other parameters constant at different time points. The reaction rates for TMB oxidation were calculated, and this data was used to generate standard Michaelis–Menten curves (see Figure g).…”

“…25 Metal oxides/chalcogenides, Prussian blue analogues (PBAs), and metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) possess enzymemimicking properties that make them suitable for crafting these biosensors. 27,28 Crystalline MOFs, such as PBAs, composed of divalent and trivalent metal ions linked by cyanide ligands, exhibit exceptional thermal properties and reactivity, enabling the synthesis of layered enzymes with hollow or porous structures. 27−29 They can also be derived into a multimetal compound with uniform composition, size, and diverse forms and structures.…”

“…Nanozymes can act in cytoprotection, where recently, Yang et al, 2023 [ 31 ], further studied Pt/Co-SA-NSG. They found that normal mitochondrial function increased with increased antioxidant levels, and the nanozyme decreased inflammation by having superoxide dismutase- and catalase-like activity ( Figure 2 ).…”
