Development of new electromagnetic suspension–based high‐speed Maglev vehicles in China: Historical and recent progress in the field of dynamical simulation

Abstract: High‐speed Maglev is a cutting‐edge technology brought back into the focus of research by plans of the Chinese government for the development of a new 600 km/h Maglev train. A Chinese‐German cooperation with industrial and academic partners has been established to pursue this ambitious goal and bring together experts from multiple disciplines. This contribution presents the joint work and achievements of CRRC Qingdao Sifang, thyssenkrupp Transrapid, CDFEB, and the ITM of the University of Stuttgart, regarding … Show more

“…For the levitation system, the terms on the right side of (11) gain a factor of 2, as R el describes the resistance of a single coil. This factor then also features in (12) in the denominator of the supply voltage term. The model was set up and validated for both the levitation and guidance magnet.…”

“…The dynamics contain another notable behavior. When formulating the explicit state-space formulation starting from (12), only Φleak is directly dependent on the supply voltage u s . Φact does not have this direct dependency, but is rather influenced by Φ leak set by Φleak (u s ).…”
