Development of Multi-Family Group and Mindfulness Treatment for Chronic Pain: Preliminary Outcomes

Abstract: Background: Chronic Pain (CP) affects over 100 million people in the US and is responsible for $635 billion in direct and indirect costs annually. Behavioral and family education and support can reduce pain intensity and related negative consequences of pain. This treatment development study examined the feasibility and participant satisfaction of a Mindfulness/Multi-Family Group Intervention for Chronic Pain (MFG-CP) patients and their care partners.
