Development of in situ generated graphene/benzoxazine‐epoxy nanocomposite for capacitor applications

Abstract: We report an effective way to develop thermally strong and multifunctional cardanol‐based nanocomposite using graphene as nanofiller. New benzoxazine monomer was synthesized by using bio‐product cardanol, aniline, and formaldehyde. Benzoxazine‐graphene nanocomposites (pba‐g) were prepared by in situ polymerization. The pba‐g precursor was copolymerized with diglycidyl ether of bisphenol‐A at different loading level to make copolymer. Benzoxazine monomer was characterized by Fourier transform infra red spectros… Show more

“…In situ polymerization is the most often method for preparation graphene/PA6 and other graphene-filled polymer composites including epoxy [84][85][86][87][88] , PS 89 , PMMA 90,91 , PU 92,93 , PE 94 , PANI [95][96][97] , PI 98-101 , etc. This method consist two main steps: 7,8,55,57 1. Graphene or its derivative is mixed pure monomers (or multiple monomers, a solution of monomers).…”

“…Epoxy resin (EP) is one of the most commonly used thermosetting materials in high voltage apparatus as insulation due to its excellent mechanical, electrical properties and chemical stability. EP adhesive with excellent bonding properties is widely used in aerospace, military, electronics, construction, and many other fields [1]. The main purpose of this study was that polyurethane (PU) and inorganic nano-TiO 2 are used to increase the mechanical strength, thermal stability and improve the dielectric properties of the composites.…”
