Development of BSA conjugated on modified surface of quercetin- loaded lipid nanocarriers for breast cancer treatment

Abstract: Multiple drug resistance is a key limitation for the clinical administration of chemotherapeutic drugs, apart from this their major limitations with free drugs are poor solubility, physiochemical and pharmaceutical behavior. These limitations with free drugs can be overcome by nanoformulations using natural biopolymer. In this study, successful utilization of P-glycoprotein receptor for the delivery of anticancer drug quercetin (Q), encapsulated inside the lipid nanocarriers (LNs) was introduced for the treatm… Show more

“…Taking about particular drug delivery nano-vehicle, they could be of two types: either polymer or lipidic nanoparticles. The lipoidal monomers, depending on the type of phospholipid, could bear varied structural identity, having striking pharmacokinetic profile, modifiable surface, excellent biocompatibility and high loading efficiency [208][209][210][211][212][213]. But, the most detrimental fact concerning them is low encapsulation, speedy release and instability upon long term storage.…”

“…The MTX-NLS and MTX-NLPHS were synthesized using a single emulsion solvent evaporation method 25 and a one-step precipitation process 26 , respectively. In the MTX-NLPHS, the aqueous phase was prepared by dissolving 5% dextrose in milli-Q-water.…”

“…Quercetin was used as an anticancer therapeutic, encapsulated within lipid nanocarriers and delivered through the P-glycoprotein receptor by Kumar et al to treat breast cancer. Compared with unloaded quercetin, the quercetin-loaded SLNs demonstrated augmented cytotoxicity in drug-resistant human breast carcinoma cell lines [ 83 ].…”
