Development of an information system for the child abuse and neglect service system

Abstract

A plan for developing an information system that provides a basis for improved decision making and planning at all levels in a child abuse and neglect service system is offered. The goal attainment scaling method (GAS) is suggested as a means for assisting the client and social worker in identifying needs and in developing a treatment plan for meeting these needs. The proposed information system is outlined using the goal attainment scaling instrument as the basic informational unit.
