Development of an Environmentally Friendly Technology for the Treatment of Aqueous Solutions with High-Purity Plasma for the Cultivation of Cotton, Wheat and Strawberries

Abstract: The microwave setup for obtaining plasma-activated water (PAW) has been created. PAW contains significant concentrations of H2O2 and NO3−, has a reduced content of O2, high conductivity, a high redox potential and low pH. Likewise, the specific electrical conductivity and concentration of H2O2 and NO3− linearly depend on the treatment time. These parameters are simple and convenient markers for controlling the preparation of PAW. It has been established that PAW solutions with a concentration of 0.5–1.0% incre… Show more

“…In the case of a preliminary impact on seeds and further analysis of sowing qualities, we can more reliably judge the positive or negative impact on the further development of the plant object. (3) Average percentage of seed germination [45]: Strawberry seeds do not have a high germination rate. Seeds with a germination capacity of 30% or more are allowed for commercial sale.…”

“…The research findings [144,145,168] indicate that when plasma-activated water is diluted to concentrations of 0.5-1.0% in distilled water, it leads to several positive effects on seed germination and plant growth for various crops, including cotton, wheat, and strawberries. Specified dilution levels have been shown to enhance germination energy.…”

“…Often, indirect plasma exposure also means exposure to biological objects using plasma-treated water or solutions (PTW and PTS) [31,32]. That is, the liquid medium is treated and then applied to the biological object.…”
