“…Most taxa of the fossil record, and especially the most common ones such as C. ambigua, C. mancus-type and T. mendax-type, frequently occur in the calibration datasets. The nearabsence of Zalutschia, a genus indicative of lower pH (Brundin 1949;Walker et al 1985), can be seen as an indication of the interpreted high pH of this lake resulting from the particular bedrock conditions of the Sokli site (Plikk et al 2016). The high abundance of eutrophic C. mancus-type and to a lesser extent E. albipennis-type suggests a relatively nutrient-rich lake.…”
