Development of a Web-Based Application to Evaluate Target Finding Algorithms

Abstract: Hyperspectral imagery leverages the use of spectral measurements to detect objects of interest in a scene that may not be discernable from their spatial patterns alone. This paper describes a project to make available to the community a set of hyperspectral airborne images on which anyone can run a target detection algorithm to find selected objects of interest in an image. The image and target spectral signatures are publicly available but the pixel location of targets within the image is withheld to allow fo… Show more

“…SNR is the signal-to-noise ratio, in decibels, that corresponds to the variance of the original image divided by the variance of the residuals; it is defined in Eq. (27). LVR is the log-volume-ratio corresponds to log(V o /V ), where V o is the volume of the ellipsoid corresponding to the covariance of the original data, and V is the volume of the covariance ellipsoid of the residual data; it can be computed using the formula in Eq.…”

“…The second dataset was acquired by the HyMap airborne hyperspectral imaging sensor, 31 which provides 126 spectral bands spanning the wavelength interval 0.4 to 2.5 μm. The image dataset, covering one area of Cooke City, Montana, was collected on July 4, 2006, with the spatial size 200 × 800 pixels.…”
