Development of a prognostic model for anoikis and identifies hub genes in hepatocellular carcinoma

Zhiwei Zhong,
Fuchun Xie,
Jiajun Yin
et al.

Abstract: Considering the high fatality of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), current prognostic systems are insufficient to accurately forecast HCC patients' outcomes. In our study, nine anoikis‑related genes (PTRH2, ITGAV, ANXA5, BIRC5, BDNF, BSG, DAP3, SKP2, and EGF) were determined to establish a risk scoring model using LASSO regression, which could be validated in ICGC dataset. Kaplan–Meier curves and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis confirmed the risk score possessed an accurate … Show more

“…Recently, Zhong et al established a risk score model from the perspective of anoikis, which was externally verified by ICGC cohort but not internally verified in TCGA cohort. 47 The prognosis model we established was not only validated internally, but also externally by multiple datasets.…”

“…10,11,34,35 KDM5B and SKP2 are involved in many biological functions, including gene regulation, cell development, and proliferation. 15,[36][37][38][39][40] In addition, elevation of KDM5B and SKP2 promotes tumorigenic properties and cancer metastasis in several human cancers, including prostate, breast, and liver cancer, 13,15,41,42 as well as drug resistance of cancer cells. [43][44][45][46] Nevertheless, the relationship between KDM5B and SKP2 in PCa was elusive, and that information is important for the development of effective drugs for PCa patients who failed ADT.…”
