Development of a low cost system for nitrate and contamination detections in natural water supply based on a planar electromagnetic sensor

Abstract: The main objective of the present work is to develop a low-cost system for detection of nitrate and contamination in natural water resources based on a planar electromagnetic sensor. The functions and attributes of the low cost system based on planar meander and interdigital structure are discussed. The performance of the system was observed where the sensor was tested with two aqueous solutions of nitrates forms namely, sodium nitrates (NaNO 3 ) and ammonium nitrates (NH 4 NO 3 Keywords-component; low cost sy… Show more

“…Therefore, for non-stationary systems, instantaneous impedance measurements are mandatory. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and interdigital sensors had been used by a number of researchers like phthalate detection [17][18][19][20] in food, evaluation of nitrate contamination in water [21][22][23][24][25], for environmental monitoring [26], for meat fat content inspection [27,28], moisture content estimation [29] etc. In the current research, the objective of the initial experiment is investigating response of the uncoated sensor to LPG at standard atmospheric condition.…”

“…The advancement in the sensing field has brought a big revolution in the quality of life of human beings [1]. In today's world, sensors are used in almost every field like domestic [2,3], environmental [4,5] and industrial sectors [6][7][8]. There has been a continuous demand to improve the quality and efficiency of the sensors since its intervention.…”
