Formation of large aggregates, occurring concomitantly with transcriptional silencing and condensation of chromatin (either physiological in fully-grown SN oocytes, or induced by α-amanitin treatment of oocytes obtained from 12-days old mouse females), was previously observed in the case of splicing factor SC-35 (Borsuk et al, 1996). We can not exclude that such rearrangement of Mcm-positive structures occurs via a passive movement with condensing chromatin, having no relation to silencing of the transcription.…”
