ZusammenfassungDie digitale Kieferorthopädie erfuhr besonders in den letzten Jahren sowohl in der Diagnostik als auch in der Therapie großen Zuspruch. Digitale Kiefermodelle können entweder direkt mittels Einscannen der Gipsmodelle oder indirekt mittels Intraoralscan erstellt werden. Auf längere Sicht setzt sich hier sicherlich das Intraoralscanning durch. Die digitalisierten und gegenseitig registrierten Kiefermodelle können mit ausgereiften Softwaretools mittlerweile sehr genau und ohne zeitlichen Mehraufwand ausgewertet werden. Zudem ergeben sich zahlreiche neue Applikationsmöglichkeiten, wie z. B. die Integration mit 3D-Gesichtsscans für dento-faziale 3D-Analysen. Auch das digitale Setup von Kiefermodellen zur Behandlungssimulationen, z. B. bei der Fragestellung Ex- oder Non-Ex-Therapie oder vor kieferchirurgisch-kieferorthopädisch kombinierter Behandlung, ist ein attraktives Anwendungsfeld. Darüber hinaus ergeben sich durch die Verfügbarkeit von digitalen Kiefermodellen faszinierende therapeutische Anwendungen, z. B. im Bereich des indirekten Bracketings oder der Alignertherapie, die in diesem mehr diagnostisch fokussierten Beitrag jedoch nicht näher thematisiert werden.

We describe the development and verification of an optical, powder-free, intraoral scanner based on a chromatic confocal imaging system, which has been realized in a single-shot multifocal approach. The system is based on a combination of micro-optical and dispersion optical elements. The methodology of recording and analyzing the acquired data are discussed in detail. A proof of concept with the application in intraoral scanning is provided. According to the current findings, the measurement uncertainty, scan speed, and overall performance of the device can well compete with the state-of-the-art of commercially available intraoral scanners.

Current endoscopy techniques have difficulties to provide both high resolution and large imaging depth, which significantly hinders the early diagnosis of gastric cancer. Here, we developed a label-free, large-depth, three-dimensional (3D) chromatic reflectance confocal endomicroscopy. In order to solve the problem of insufficient imaging depth of traditional chromatic confocal microscopy, a customized miniature objective lens both with large chromatic focal shift and correction for spherical aberration was used to focus light of different wavelengths at different depths of the sample simultaneously, and a fiber bundle containing 50000 single-mode cores was used to collect the confocal reflectance signal. To acquire detailed information along the axial direction at a faster speed, a high-speed multi-pixel spectrometer was used to realize simultaneous detection of multi-depth signals. Specifically, we have built up a label-free fiber-optic 3D chromatic reflectance confocal endomicroscopy, with 2.3 µm lateral resolution, imaging depth of 570 µm in 3D phantom and 220 µm in tissue, and 1.5 Hz 3D volumetric frame rate. We have demonstrated that the fiber-optic 3D chromatic confocal endomicroscopy can be used to image human gastric tissues ex vivo, and provide important morphological information for diagnosis without labeling. These results show the great potential of the fiber-optic 3D chromatic confocal endomicroscopy for gastric cancer diagnosis.
