Development and validation of a model for individualized prediction of cervical insufficiency risks in patients undergoing IVF/ICSI treatment

Abstract: Background Women who conceived with in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) are more likely to experience adverse pregnancy outcomes than women who conceived naturally. Cervical insufficiency (CI) is one of the important causes of miscarriage and premature birth, however there is no published data available focusing on the potential risk factors predicting CI occurrence in women who received IVF/ICSI treatment. This study aimed to identify the risk factors that c… Show more

“…Statistical analyses were performed using the STATA 14.0 MP software and Regression Modeling Strategies (R version 3.6.3). To build up the nomogram and measure the area under the curve (AUC), we used the “regplot”, “pROC”, and “rms” in R software ( 19 ). Differences between groups were compared using Student’s t -test or chi‐square test as appropriate.…”

For the nomogram establishment and the AUC measurements, we used the "regplot", "pROC" and "rms" in R software [19]. Differences between groups were compared using Student's t-test or Chi-squared test as appropriate.…”

“…The predictive accuracy of the models was measured using the average optimism of the area under the curve (AUC). A precise prediction model would result in a plot where the observed and predicted probabilities fall along the diagonal [19].…”
