Development and specification of a method for determining the grain-size composition of unshaped refractory materials

Abstract

If we introduce a correction to this magnitude then the calibration curve is shifted from curve 2 to curve 4 and practically coincides with curve 3 for the ground samples (see Fig. 1).Consequently, calibration for the samples of fractions minus 0.25 mm is needed with respect to the concentration of calcium oxide in the calibrated samples, corresponding to their average grain-size composition, or, as it turned out, it is possible to use the calibration curve for the ground samples since the loss in intensity of the coarser fractions is quite accurately compensated by the enrichment of the fine fraction by calcium oxide.3. RSA of samples of fractions minus 0.063 mm may be recommended for attestation.
