“…The K-DOCS factors are Everyday (creative activities in everyday life), Scholarly (intellectual and verbal creativity), Performance (creativity in literature and music), Scientific (creativity in mechanics and mathematics), and Artistic (creativity in visual arts). Further research conducted in China (Tu & Fan, 2015), Czech Republic (Dostál, Plháková, & Záškodná, 2017), Malaysia (Tan, Tan, Cheng, Hashim, & Ong, 2019), Nigeria (Awofala & Fatade, 2015), Poland (McKay et al, 2017), and Turkey (Kandemir & Kaufman, 2019;Şahin, 2016) not only largely confirmed previous results but also extended them.…”

“…Meanwhile, self-reports with the advantages of cost-efficient and easy administration were commonly employed [ 22 , 23 , 24 ]. Tan et al [ 11 ] developed the short form of the Kaufman Domains of Creativity Scale [ 25 ] with 20 items to help respondents indicate their belief of creativity relative to their peers in five different domains (e.g., scholarly, artistic). A self-rated creativity scale was also used for individuals to report their creative behaviors.…”

“…Hence, it is essential to examine if creativity also contributes to subjective well-being. In addition, studies found cultural differences in the perception of creativity [ 10 , 11 ]. For instance, while novelty and usefulness are equally important in the West, usefulness has received more attention than novelty in the East [ 10 ].…”

“…The short version of the K-DOCS has been reported to have acceptable internal consistency. In an independent sample, Cronbach alpha coefficients were 0.69 for self/everyday, 0.67 for scholarly, 0.82 for performance, 0.77 for mechanical/scientific, and 0.75 for artistic creativity [58] . Internal consistency of the present sample, across these 5 respective domains, is similar to previous research, and was 0.65, 0.68, 0.85, 0.85, and 0.81; notably, the three assumptions of Cronbach's alpha (unidimensionality, uncorrelated error scores, and items' true scores differ by an additive constant [59] ) were confirmed for this, and all, internal consistency analyses.…”
