Abstract:Medication nonadherence results in avoidable symptom exacerbations and hospitalization, causing thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in healthcare costs annually. Although pharmacological therapies are present for chronic diseases, lengthy and complicated medication regimens often have high rates of nonadherence.
