Development and implementation of two-stage boost converter for single-phase inverter without transformer for PV systems

Abstract: This paper offers a two-stage boost converter for a single-phase inverter without transformer for PV systems. Each stage of the converter is separately controlled by a pulse width modulated signal. A Simulink model of the converter using efficient voltage control topology is developed. The proposed circuit performance characteristics are explained and the obtained simulation results are confirmed through the applied experiments. Moreover, this paper has examined the control circuit of a single-phase inverter t… Show more

“…Figure 2 shows a graphical representation of the possible output voltage levels corresponding to the case of the capacitors' voltages described in (5). Each stage adds, subtracts, or isolates its capacitor voltage to the voltage of the preceding stages; this is represented by the raising, declining, and horizontal arrows respectively.…”

“…On the off chance that the size regarding U is more remarkable than (or grows to) b, State (1) implies appropriation to figure a suitable width w for apportioning U. In the event when the estimation of w is equal to zero, U is assigned as non-disseminated (Stages [15][16][17][18][19][20]. This occurs when the items in U have similarities regarding the separation work, and in this manner, they can't be apportioned.…”

“…The designed ANN includes three hidden layers in addition to one input layer and one output layer as shown in Figure 4. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pulses generator generates the drive pulses to the involved boost DC-DC converter [20][21][22][23][24][25]. The second group of blocks in the proposed system involves the power electronics device which is the boost DC-DC converter, in addition to the electrical resistive load.…”
