“…Past studies have examined the skills and competencies needed for effective performance by LIS professionals and the relative importance of each identified skill or competency from different perspectives. A number of studies have focused on the analysis of a specific type of data such as job advertisements (Bishop et al, 2015; Orme, 2008; Raju, 2014; Saunders, 2012; Trembach et al, 2012), academic curricula (Bronstein, 2007; Edegbo, 2010; Hider et al, 2011; Robati and Singh, 2013), and data collected from interviews with library directors (Anwar and Al-Ansari, 2002; Chow et al, 2011; Peyvand et al, 2014; Raju, 2014; Riley-Huff and Rholes, 2011; Robati and Singh 2013).
