“…The main limitation of this study arises from the manipulation of the experiment, which involved asking participants to imagine themselves as the main character in a short story about cyber-ostracism. Although the modified scenario manipulation used by Smith et al (2017) succeeded in evoking feelings of abandonment and ignored participants in conditions of exclusion, other measurement methods (Hatun & Demirci, 2020) and paradigms, such as Ostracism Online developed by Wolf et al (2015, in Wang et al, 2022, can provide an alternative.
