Developing Rich Internet Applications as Social Sites on the Semantic Web

Abstract: Current Web 2.0 applications, either social sites or Rich Internet Applications, share several problems of interoperability when interconnecting different systems. It is therefore complicated to reuse (or export) the information between sources. In this context, where the value belongs to the data, not the application, the use of Semantic Web technologies opens a way of resolution with mature and standard technologies, thus leading to the Web 3.0. This paper presents the application of Sm4RIA (Semantic Models … Show more

“…This solution is technologically independent since it can be adapted to any RIA framework. A schema of this type of application, the software modules it contains and the Social Network Site (SNS) case study are described in [1] or at the S m 4RIA Web site. The S m 4RIA Extension for OIDE, which is presented in this paper, supports the design and generation of these modules implementing the S m 4RIA methodology.…”

“…Although there are currently some available solutions, they are still dependent on the technology chosen for the implementation of the RIA. Semantic Rich Internet Applications (SRIA [1]) extensively use Semantic Web techniques and technologies in order to provide a representation of the contents managed by the application and facilitating the reuse existing knowledge sources on the Web. This solution is technologically independent since it can be adapted to any RIA framework.…”
