Abstract:BACKGROUND: Opioids prescribed to address postoperative pain drive opioid-related deaths in the United States. Prescribing guidelines have been developed for many general surgical procedures, which have decreased opioid prescription and consumption. The literature on opioids after anorectal surgery is lacking.
