Developing a Risk Management Process for Infrastructure Projects Using IDEF0

Abstract: The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project is a massive, large-scale construction venture with a complex interface. In order to reduce the risk of disasters and industrial accidents in the project and to save costs, a simple and flexible risk management system is necessary for projects such as MRT. A set of risk management processes was identified through a literature review and data collection, and the Integration Definition for Function Modeling (IDEF0) process was used for logical analysis. The IDEF0 diagram clea… Show more

“…Risk identification is an iterative process, as new risks may be identified and discovered as the project progresses through its lifespan [16]. In order to identify the risks, several methods have been proposed, including interviews, hypothesis analysis, document review, the Delphi technique, brainstorming, graphing methods [26], Artificial Neural Network (ANN) [27], Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) [28], Cross Analytical-Machine Learning models [29], and the Integration Definition for Function Modeling (IDEF0) process [30]. In the risk identification phase, the risks affecting the objectives should be prioritized and the impact of risks that do not affect the objectives should be avoided [12].…”

“…Compared with the above research, resilience assessment is more dynamic and better suited to deal with complex systems after uncertain disruptions [17][18][19], and has developed rapidly in the past decade in the CINs domain. Research on CINs' resilience can be roughly divided into the probabilistic analysis method, the expert judgment method, and the performance response function (PRF) method [20].…”

“…Obstacles to project implementa_on affect work results, thereby reducing project produc_vity (Irsyad et al, 2022;Per=wi, 2017;Puteri et al, 2022;Satriaputri & Cahyadi, 2016;Su & Khallaf, 2022). Risks that arise must be controlled through risk analysis that affects project performance with risk iden_fica_on and mi_ga_on plans during planning and control/monitoring during project implementa_on (Amoatey et al, 2015;Rahmayan= et al, 2020;Tserng et al, 2021;Wibowo & Kochendoerfer, 2011). Project risk management, as in PMBOK, is one of its 9 knowledge areas, having 6 project risk management processes.…”
