The selection of the best spectrum band available to meet the quality of service requirements of secondary users without interfering with the transmission of the primary users is considered as a challenge in cognitive radio networks. On the other side, green network is a recent concept that refers to the processes used to optimize a network in order to make it more energy efficient. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm ensuring the selection of the best available spectrum satisfying the demands of the secondary users based on TOPSIS and AHP in OFDM-based cognitive radio networks. We will assess the need for the secondary users in terms of quality of service and energy efficiency, by analyzing the characteristics of the available channels and taking into account the interference generated with the presence of the primary user. It efficiently manages energy because it allows a significant reduction of the transmission power used by the secondary user and therefore presents an effective solution in green networking.

Cloud federation is a new paradigm in Cloud Computing. One of the major advantages of this paradigm resides on its ability to help the Cloud Service Provider (CSB) overcome the limitation of their own resources in order to serve their clients. In view of a vast diversity of cloud services being offered by several providers in the cloud federation, it becomes a necessity to couple this paradigm with an automatic negotiation to dynamically form the best possible offer to the clients requirements. In this paper, we propose an extension for the Open Cloud Computing Interface (OCCI) to support the automatic negotiation between different cloud providers using the Contract Net Protocol (CNP) involved in Multi-agent-System (MAS). In order to prove the efficiency and the effectiveness of our approach, we suggest a real case study illustrating how a client can interact with our approach. In addition, we implement a prototype to evaluate the key idea presented in this paper through a set of experiments.

The main objective of Distance Education (DE) is to spread quality education regardless of time and space. This objective is easily achieved with the help of technology. With the development of World Wide Web and high-speed internet the quality of DE is improved because now Digital Content (DC) can be easily and in no time distributed to many learners of different locations in text, audio and video formats. But, the main obstacle in digital publishing is the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of DC. Digital Rights Management (DRM) that manages rights over any digital creation is the only solution to this problem. In this paper, we have made an attempt to implement a Digital Rights Management System for Distance Education known as DRMSDE. We have identified that Multi-Agent System (MAS) based technology is very popular for such type of implementations. Keeping that in mind, we have chosen one of the most popular Multi-Agent based tools, namely JAVA Agent Development Framework (JADE), for our system. This paper presents an overview and the system architecture for the proposed implementation.
