Developing a model to evaluate and improve user experience with hand motions in virtual reality environments

Abstract: In video games, the evaluation of the user experience (UX) mainly refers to two main groups of aspects, those that refer to the player that is mainly oriented to make the player feel good while playing and those that refer to the video game that is oriented to make the video game easy to understand and play. “…According to Ref. [99], player profiling helps aid in the creation of a pre-test baseline and provides a plausible explanation as to how a potential user may be drawn to such a product, such as through screenshots in the Play Store/App Store or other hosting media. Intriguingly, the pre-game comprehension of UX is very flat and linear, which changes quite dramatically after completing the game, raising the concern that an explanation is required before introducing a serious game as a teaching tool, otherwise the usability and attractiveness of it may potentially be treated as a regular game.…”

“…In VR environments, UX is focused on making users feel good with the immersive experience and making the VR environment easy to understand and interact with [66]. In the context of the design of videogames, UX is considered to be one of the most important aspects affecting the engagement of users because the level of engagement is somehow linked to the different forms in which the interface elements are designed [67].…”
