Developed analytical expression for current harmonic distortion of the PV system’s inverter in relation to the solar irradiance and temperature

Abstract: This paper deals with modeling and simulation of the total harmonic distortion of the current (THD I ) dispatched from the inverter and connected to nonlinear load. The change of THD I was examined in relation to the ambient temperature (T ) and solar irradiance (G). The developed model is being used to extract parameters for a given THD I as a function of temperature and solar radiation. This study outlines the working principle of photovoltaic (PV) panel as well as PV array. Off-grid PV system is modeled by … Show more

“…The relationship between panel temperature and panel power is inversely proportional. As the ambient temperature increases, the power of the panel decreases [18][19][20]. In the solar system, the active power does not change, in the case when the reactive power is zero, the power factor improves and approaches to one.…”

“…A comprehensive techno-economic analysis would be of interest to evaluate such potentials. While this study focuses on maximizing DC generation potential, net economic value of generated renewable power for end user will also depend on tackling challenges related to power quality [47], [48]. Nevertheless, we anticipate the results will help to pave the way for reducing solar LCOE by providing strategies to increase the energy yield through application-specific bifacial PV systems ensuring optimal utilization of local conditions.…”
