Detonation Synthesis of Ultrafine Alumina

Abstract

The main steps in the detonation synthesis of ultrafine alumina are analyzed, and the factors determining the key features of each step are identified. The experimentally determined yield of ultrafine particles is interpreted in relation to the process parameters. The effect of synthesis conditions on the size of ultrafine Al 2 O 3 particles is examined.
