Deterministic and non‐deterministic query optimization techniques in the cloud computing

Abstract: Query optimization is considered as one of the main challenges of query processing phases in the cloud environments. The query optimizer attempts to provide the most optimal execution plan by considering the possible query plans. Therefore, the execution cost of a query can be affected by some factors, including communication costs, unavailability of resources, and access to large distributed data sets. In addition, it is known as NP-hard problem and many researchers are focused on this problem in recent years… Show more

“…The findings confirm the results of previous studies, which indicate a positive relationship between ICT and digital knowledge and students’ thoughts and beliefs. So, some suggestions are provided as follows: increasing continuous and dynamic communication between students and teachers with each other through the internet, e-mail, mobile and so on; creating a suitable platform and controlled liberalization for students to gain experience and group activities; encouraging students to collaborate with others using modern technologies; improving and developing ICT infrastructure for the benefit of more students; strengthening the sense of responsibility toward society and gaining trust and consultation with others through ICTs; performing exact investment on the hardware and software features for long periods to obtain desired results in schools; using novel technology (by teachers) to integrate the technology in the higher education programs; and investigating the use of novel technologies such as cloud computing (Azhir et al , 2019; Ebadi and Jafari Navimipour, 2019; Shao et al , 2019; Souri et al , 2018) and Internet of Things (Ghanbari et al , 2019; Hamzei and Navimipour, 2018; Pourghebleh and Navimipour, 2017) in higher education programs. …”

“…Deterministic methods pursue a strict methodology to describe activity arrangement in resolving task disagreements, which are often said to be incorrect or uncertain and, hence, get locked in a local optimum [24]. Deterministic techniques are effective for solving minor size difficulties.…”

“…Both computational and data processing apps can be run on cloud computing technology (Agrawal et al, 2010;Dillon et al, 2010;Manekar and Pradeepini, 2015). Cloud computing is a concept for providing ubiquitous, accessible, on-demand network access to a shared pool of resources that can be provided and delivered quickly with no administrative activity or service supplier contact (Azhir et al, 2019).…”
