Determination of tricyclazole and alcohol metabolite in rice grain and straw

Abstract: An analytical method for determining residues of the fungicide tricyclazole (5-methyl-l,2,4-triazolo-[3,4-b]benzothiazole) and the major metabolite (l,2,4-triazolo[3,4-6]benzothiazole-5-methanol) in rough rice, grain components, and straw has been developed with flame photometric-gas chromatographic detection. “…Two soil extraction methods that achieved quantitative extraction on freshly spiked samples have been developed (Yunxiang et al, 1990;Tsukioka, 1988), but these methods were not validated on aged samples and also required numerous sample cleanup steps before chromatographic analysis.
