Determination of the oscillator strength of F centres in KBr-In by photostimulated luminescence

Abstract: Usingthephotostimulatedluminescenceof !F-In?*)defect pairsinKBr-lnavery sensitive method for the determination oi the oscillator strength of F centres has been proposed. Its main advantage is that there is no need to know any absorption characteristics nor the concentration of F centres. Some criteria for the applicability of this method are analvsed

“…The features of this centre have striking similarities to that of the F centres in alkali halides (e.g. Kalnins et al [29]). Because the IR resonance is so important in luminescence radiation dosimetry [5,6,8], we seek briefly to use the effective electron mass measurements to try to ellucidate further on its origin.…”
