Abstract:425 1 side fringing erased bands of thin film heads are necessary in the determination of the recording track density. These parameters are usually defined and determined by a '747' curve measurement [ 1 J -[2]. The read width, however, can not be directly measured in this procedure. Instead, the read width is often estimated as equal to the physical track width, or as some arbitrary level of a track profile curve [3], or as in the case of [2], the modeling results of a modeled '747' curve. 4 3 5 3

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
