“…Nevertheless, 95.6% of CLEAs degradation occurred overall, while mCLEAs degradation was 86.4%. The difference in thermal degradation of 9.2% was attributed to the presence of MNPs in mCLEAs, which generally show excellent thermal stability ( Hu et al, 2021 ). The physical–chemical characterization of γ-Fe 2 O 3 MNPs, which has been used in recent research, was performed using various analyses in our previous work ( Šulek et al, 2010 ).…”

“…A high content of free amino groups, especially on the surface of an enzyme, is crucial to create strong intermolecular bonds between the free amino and polymers or oligomers resulting from the aldol condensation of glutaraldehyde. Moreover, the addition of BSA, which forms co-aggregates with an enzyme containing few lysine residues, can form CLEAs with high activity and improved mechanical properties ( Hakimi et al, 2019 ) Also, the resistance to extreme pHs presented by CLEAs was a result of the newly formed secondary interactions between glutaraldehyde and some catalytic relevant amino acids of the enzyme ( Hu et al, 2021 ). Although the synthesis of CLEAs is an efficient method for enzyme immobilization, there are a few limitations, such as low mechanical stability if the crosslinking was not appropriate, resulting in the leaching of the enzyme.…”

“…Our method enables the rapid detection of sarcosine with a reaction time of ∼10 min, which is less than the assay time in our previous work. 20 Since the experimental equipment and reagents used in this work are inexpensive, it is affordable for many laboratories and community-level medical institutions, which facilitates the promotion of this method and the screening of PCa. Furthermore, because of the remarkable specificity and excellent anti-interference properties, the pre-treatment process for this method is very simple and easy to perform.…”

“…Hydrogen peroxide is one of the reaction products of sarcosine and sarcosine oxidase (SOX), and it can be detected using fluorescence or colorimetric methods to reflect the concentration of sarcosine involved in this reaction. In our previous work, 20 the determination of sarcosine was accomplished using a colorimetric method, providing an approach for the analysis of sarcosine without the need for complicated pretreatment. In order to achieve the more rapid and accurate detection of sarcosine, SOX was embedded into ZIF-8 to form SOX@ZIF-8 in this study, which has a better stability than the free enzyme.…”
