In this study, analysis of trace elements (Al, V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Ag, Cd, Sn, Hg, Pb) of taxa, such as Alkanna trichophila Hub.-Mor. var. trichophila, Anchusa azurea Mill. var. azurea ( Boraginaceae ), Achillea biebersteinii Afan., Centaurea iberica Trev. ex Sprengel (Asteraceae), Ajuga vestita Boiss.(Endemic), Teucrium polium L. ( Lamiaceae ) by ICP-MS technique, collected in Çermik district of Turkey's Diyarbakır province and used for folk or medicinal purposes, was conducted quantitatively and qualitatively using the ICP-MS technique. As a result of the analysis, Sn, Hg, Pb elements in all six plant taxa could not be determined since they were below the lod value. It is essential for consumers that these three toxic elements are not specified in plant species. The highest concentration was determined in element Al (26.04-193.5 mg/kg). With this study, some metal characterisations and concentrations of medicinal plants were determined.

Determination of Pomological and Molecular Characteristics of Some Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Cultivars and Selected Genotypes

In this study, it was aimed to determine the quality, phytochemical contents and molecular characterization of the best thirteen pomegranate genotypes selected as a result of the selection study carried out between 2019-2020 in the İnhisar district of Bilecik province. As a result of the research, the fruit weight of the selected promising genotypes and cultivars was between 208.00 and 601.3 g, fruit width was 74.54-103.47 mm, fruit length was 63.08-92.32 mm, hundred-aril weight was 28.00-66.25 g, aril yield was determined as 35.48-85.00%. The amount of soluble solid was determined between 14.33 and 18.77%, while pH values were between 3.22 and 4.36% and titratable acidity was between 0.23 and 1.72%. The total antioxidant capacity, which was determined with the TEAC method, was 3.28-8.48 µmol TE g-1, while the total amount of phenolic substances was 956.10-2116.10 g GAE kg−1, and the total amount of anthocyanins was 45.50-344 µg Plg-3-glu/g. Seven UBC-ISSR primers were employed to conduct molecular analyses aiming to determine polymorphism levels among the selected thirteen genotypes, along with the comparative Fellahyemez, Katırbaşı, and Hicaznar varieties. The resulting dendrogram is divided into two main clusters at a 25% dissimilarity level, one smaller and the other larger. All local genotypes clustered within the larger group, with Genotype 9 and Genotype 10 exhibiting the closest similarity. When the criteria determined as a result of the study were examined, it was determined that among the selected pomegranate genotypes, there were individuals that could be registered as table and industrial.

Bu çalışmada, Kuzey Irak’ın Halepçe ilinde yetiştirilen Laswara, Kawahanar, Meyhoş ve Salaxani nar çeşitlerinin bazı ağaç ve meyve özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır Araştırmada ortalama meyve ağırlığının 206-266 g, meyve uzunluğunun 76.01-84.30 mm, meyve eninin 75.92-81.19 mm, kaliks boyunun 11.03-12.43 mm, meyve suyu miktarının 132-148 ml, toplam dane ağırlığının 113.63-201.16 g, dane randımanının % 54.89-75.62 ve odacık sayısının 6-7 adet arasında değişiklik gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca; nar çeşitlerinin SÇKM miktarının %11.8-15.8, pH’ının 2.71-3.54 ve titre edilebilir asit miktarının ise %0.12-0.27 arasında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bunların yanında, incelenen çeşitlerin kabuk alt zemin rengi, kabuk üst zemin rengi, çekirdek sertliği, meyve tadı, dane rengi ve daneleme kolaylığı belirlenmiştir. Nar çeşitlerinde incelenen ağaç özellikleri bakımından Kawahanar ve Meyhoş çeşitlerinin verim durumunun yüksek, Kawahanar çeşidi ağaçlarının çok dikenli olduğu ve Laswra çeşidinde ise herhangi bir meyve çatlaması meydana gelmediği saptanmıştır.
