A r t i c l e I n f o A b s t r a c tKeywords: methylene blue, silica, salicylic acidThe retrieval of methylene blue using a silica-modified sulfide-salicylic acid has been carried out. Salicylate-silica-acid alloys have been prepared by comparing the four media ie filter paper, silica-filter paper, salicylic acid-filter paper and salicylic acidsilica-filter paper. This study aims to study the recovery of methylene blue using salicylic acid-modified silica filtering with various parameters on the adsorption and desorption process. The results showed that the salicylic acid-silica alloy could improve the capability of methylene blue removal. The result of pH variation on the adsorption process showed that at pH 7 methylene blue can be taken 92.89%. Whereas at concentration variation, salicylic acid at 5 mM can take methylene blue equal to 92.86%.The desorption results showed that pH 1 methylene blue could be desorbed at 308.89 mg/g, while the variation of contact time of desorption ie at 110 minutes could an saturate the blue methylene by 589,61 mg/g. The UV-Vis analysis showed a decrease in absorbance in salicylic acid after contact with silica. The FTIR analysis also shows that in salicylate-silica-acid alloys there are Si-O groups derived from silica and C = O derived from salicylic acid.A b s t r a k Kata Kunci: Metilen biru, silika, asam salisilat Pengambilan metilen biru menggunakan penyaringan termodifikasi silika-asam salisilat telah dilakukan dengan membuat paduan silika-asam salisilat dan membandingkan keempat media yaitu kertas saring, kertas saring-silika, kertas saringasam salisilat dan kertas saring-silika-asam salisilat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengambilan metilen biru menggunakan penyaringan termodifikasi silikaasam salisilat dengan berbagai parameter pada proses adsorpsi dan desorpsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paduan silika-asam salisilat dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pengambilan metilen biru. Hasil variasi pH pada proses adsorpsi menunjukkan bahwa pada pH 7 metilen biru dapat terambil 92,89%, sedangkan variasi konsentrasi asam salisilat pada 5 mM dapat mengambil metilen biru sebesar 92,86%.Hasil desorpsi menunjukkan pada pH 1 metilen biru dapat terdesorpsi sebesar 308,89 mg/g, sedangkan variasi waktu kontak desorpsi yaitu pada waktu 110 menit dapat mendesorpsi metilen biru sebesar 589,61 mg/g. Hasil analisis UV-Vis menunjukkan adanya penurunan absorbansi pada asam salisilat setelah kontak dengan silika. Hasil analisis FTIR juga menunjukkan pada paduan silika-asam salisilat terdapat gugus Si-O yang berasal dari silika dan C=O yang berasal dari asam salisilat.

In this study, salting-out assisted liquid-liquid extraction combined with high performance liquid chromatography diode array detector (SALLE-HPLC-DAD) method was developed and validated for simultaneous analysis of carbaryl, atrazine, propazine, chlorothalonil, dimethametryn and terbutryn in environmental water samples. Parameters affecting the extraction efficiency such as type and volume of extraction solvent, sample volume, salt type and amount, centrifugation speed and time, and sample pH were optimized. Under the optimum extraction conditions the method was linear over the range of 10 -100 μg/L (carbaryl), 8 -100 μg/L (atarzine), 7 -100 μg/L (propazine) and 9 -100 μg/L (chlorothalonil, terbutryn and dimethametryn) with correlation coefficients (R 2 ) between 0.99 and 0.999. Limits of detection and quantification ranged from 2.0 to 2.8 μg/L and 6.7 to 9.5 μg/L, respectively. The extraction recoveries obtained for ground, lake and river waters were in a range of 75.5% to 106.6%, with the intra-day and inter-day relative standard deviation lower than 3.4% for all the target analytes. All of the target analytes were not detected in these samples. Therefore, the proposed SALLE-HPLC-DAD method is simple, rapid, cheap and environmentally friendly for the determination of the aforementioned herbicides, insecticide and fungicide residues in environmental water samples.

Background: Green chemistry focuses on an efficient extraction strategy for pesticides from agricultural and environmental samples. QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe) method is used primarily, in the extraction of pesticides from food matrices. Certain modifications in the approach lead to better sensitivity and efficient extraction. This paper describes an analytical approach for spectrophotometric determination of pinoxaden herbicide in different matrices based on a modified QuEChERS method. Methods: The original QuEChERS method was modified using different buffering media and different cleanup sorbents. Efficacy of different dispersive SPE sorbents for the cleanup was compared. The optimized conditions were applied for investigation of percent recovery and residue analysis. The presence of the residue was confirmed by employing two reported HPLC methods under optimized conditions. Statistical analysis of the data was accomplished to investigate the distribution of the subject analyte in soil. Results: The average percent recovery of pinoxaden was found to be in the range of 77 ± 5% to 100 ± 2% for soil, 84 ± 2% to 98 ± 2% for water samples, and 79 ± 1% to 88 ± 1% for wheat grains. Good linearity with R 2 = 0.997 was achieved in acetate buffer system. Limits of detection of pinoxaden in soil, water, and wheat grain samples were found to be 0.6 μg/g, 0.48 μg/mL, and 0.31 μg/g, respectively, while limits of quantification in the above matrices were found to be 1.83 μg/g, 1.46 μg/mL, and 0.94 μg/g respectively. Statistical analysis of the data using a three-way ANOVA shows that the individual impacts of cardinal axis and time on distribution of pinoxaden (PXD) residue is statistically insignificant. However, the impact of depth on PXD residue was found to be highly significant as the p value <0.01. The interaction of the sampling time and depth of soil was found to have highly significant effect on the PXD residue in soil sample. Conclusions: The proposed method is a milestone in the extraction of pinoxaden, a relatively new pesticide, from agricultural and environmental samples in terms of simplicity, sensitivity, and reproducibility.
