Determination of lincomycin in milk and tissues by reversed-phase liquid chromatography

Abstract: Lincomycin cannot be distinguished from other antibiotics by microbiological tests. A procedure was developed for determination of lincomycin residues in milk and tissues using high-performance liquid chromatography. For extraction/deproteinization, samples were mixed/blended with 3 volumes of 0.1NH4H2PO4. An equal volume of methanol was added, and the mixture was filtered. Then 1.5 volumes of acetonitrile was added, and the mixture was refiltered. The filtrate was concentrated to <4 mL by evaporation. An auto… Show more

“…Concentrations of LM and CM in the biological materials were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV-detection described by Moats (1991) and Flaherty et al (1988), respectively, with a slight modi®cation. An octadecyl column [Lichrosphere RP ± 18, 5 lm, 250´4 mm intradermal (i.d.…”

“…Lincomycin. LM (Sigma, St. Louis, USA) concentrations were determined by a reverse-phase HPLC procedure (Moats, 1991) with slight modification. The HPLC system was at the same setting as that used for TMP determination, except for the analytical column (Shim-pack CLC-ODs, 5 pn, 150 x 6 mm ID, Shimadzu Corporation).…”

“…Numerous available methods for the determination LIN in different matrices are generally based on chromatographic techniques with various detection systems . Immunoassay as a screening test has an advantage over chromatographic procedures in simplicity, sensitivity, and capability of high sample throughput.…”
