Bu araştırmanın amacı ebelerin yetkileri ilgili görüşlerini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi tekniklerinden görüşme tekniği kullanılmış olup fenomenolojik bir araştırmadır. Örneklemi; maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme tekniğiyle belirlenen Türkiye’nin Akdeniz bölgesinde bir şehir hastanesi doğumhane biriminde çalışan 11 ebe oluşturmuştur. Veriler yarı yapılandırılmış form ile bireysel görüşme ve ses kaydı alınarak toplanmış, içerik analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Nitel verilerin analizi sonucu 5 tema, 12 alt tema, 38 kod oluşturulmuştur. Bu çalışmada ebeler çalıştıkları doğumhane ortamının gürültülü, yoğun, stresli olarak bildirmişlerdir. İlaveten mesleklerini severek yaptıklarını, anne ve bebek sağlığından sorumlu olduklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Ayrıca ebelerin yetkilerini; gebeyi karşılama, gebenin yatışını yapma, gebenin ilk değerlendirmesini yapma, gebeye tedaviyi uygulama, doğum öncesi takibini yapma, doğum yaptırma ve doğum sonrası bir saat anne ve bebek takibi olarak belirtmişlerdir. Ebeler doğumhaneye yatış yapma, reçete yazma, indüksiyon uygulama yetkilerinin kendilerine tanımlanmasının uygun olacağını da düşünmektedirler. Sonuç olarak: Ebelerin belirtiği yetki alanlarının; Sağlık Meslek Mensupları ile Sağlık Hizmetlerinde Çalışan Diğer Meslek Mensuplarının İş ve Görev Tanımlarına Dair Yönetmeliği’nin belirlediği yetkinlik alanlarıyla orantılı olduğu saptanmıştır. Lisans eğitimlerinde ve hizmet içi eğitimlerde ebelerin yetkilerine yönelik eğitimler verilerek bilgilerinin güncellenmesi sağlanmalıdır. Ebeliği kapsayan yasa ve yönetmeliklerde düzenlemeler yapılmalıdır. Bu düzenlemelerde ebelerde zorunlu mesleki sorumluluk sigortası da dâhil edilmelidir.

THE OPINIONS OF MIDWIVES ABOUT THEIR COMPETENCE ; A QUALITATIVE STUDY
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the opinions of midwives regarding their powers.Interview technique, one of the qualitative research method techniques, was used and it is a phenomenological research. Sampling, which is determined by the maximum variation sampling technique working at a city hospital maternity units in Turkey in the Mediterranean region consists of 11 midwives. The data were collected by taking individual interviews and audio recordings using a semi-structured form, and analyzed through content analysis. As a result of the analysis of qualitative data, 5 themes, 12 sub-themes and 38 codes were created. In this study, midwives reported that the delivery room environment they worked in was noisy, intense, and stressful. In addition, they stated that they love their profession and are responsible for the health of the mother and baby. In addition, the competence of midwives; They stated that welcoming the pregnant woman, admitting the pregnant woman, making the first evaluation of the pregnant, applying the treatment to the pregnant, performing prenatal follow-up, giving birth and following the mother and baby for one hour after birth. However, midwives also think that it would be appropriate to define the authorities for admission to the delivery room, prescribing and induction. As a result: The jurisdiction of midwives; It has been determined that it is proportional to the fields of competence determined by the Regulation on Job and Job Descriptions of Healthcare Professionals and Other Healthcare Professionals. The knowledge of midwives should be updated by providing training on the competence. of midwives in undergraduate and in-service trainings. Regulations should be made in laws and regulations concerning midwives, including compulsory professional liability insurance for midwives.
