“…These include electrochemical detection [1], spectrophotometry [3], chemiluminescence [4], polarography, gas chromatography (GC) [5], liquid chromatography (LC) [6] and ion chromatography (IC) [7]. Although the sensitivity of some methods is high, these methods fail to provide decisive determinations of analytes in biological samples that give various types of matrix interferences.…”

“…A limit of detection of 0.05 ng/cm 3 was obtained for iodine. Ratanawimarnwong et al (13) reported a FI-CL method for iodide in pharmaceutical products based on the luminol-iodine CL reaction, using gasdiffusion unit at 425 nm. The limit of detection for iodine was found to be <2.0 mg/L, with some serious interference from ascorbic acid and multivitamin tablets causing a negative CL signal.…”

“…The limit of detection for iodine was found to be <2.0 mg/L, with some serious interference from ascorbic acid and multivitamin tablets causing a negative CL signal. Nacapricha et al (14) reported a pervaporation-FI method for iodide with luminol CL detection in multivitamin tablets containing ascorbic acid, which interfered in the method reported previously (13). Off-line sample treatment with an anion exchange column was used to remove ascorbic acid from iodide before analysis.…”
