Determination of fundamental criteria in the selection of a construction system

Abstract: There is a lack of an efficient systematic approach to the selection of appropriate construction methods for modern building systems. Identifying key criteria is necessary to help decision-makers in implementing the principles of this process. The present article was conduct for the same purpose. In this article, after reviewing of the literature, we found that construction experts’ opinions did not consider until now. Thus, we considered the opinion of experts in the field of the construction industry (Techni… Show more

“…It began in 2013, from the analysis of different risk assessment methodologies and their usability in construction works. The evaluation was carried out on three construction systems with a high incidence of accidents [ 10 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 25 , 32 ] and on the most characteristic risks in construction sites [ 6 , 8 , 10 , 11 ]. The evaluation was carried out from the written and photographic documentation of three real construction works, already completed at that time.…”

“…Where risk tolerance is concerned, other considerations are: the factor of the reality of the construction sector, which includes the risks associated with the complexity of the units of work, their location and interdependence [ 1 , 2 ]; the factor of the contractor’s economic response in terms of the direct implementation of construction systems and prevention methods [ 3 , 4 ]; and the social factor, including the interest, participation and the worker emotional states [ 5 , 6 ]. These factors span the documentary environment [ 7 , 8 ], the construction environment [ 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 ], and the social environment as fundamental elements associated with the execution of a project [ 5 , 9 , 13 , 14 , 15 ].…”

“…In the building process, based on an extensive bibliography, three periods are identified which determine the type of prevention: the documentary period, which relates to the project characteristics and organization of the work (Allen & Iano, 2019; Act 31 of 8 th November 1995; Castellano, 2008;Larsson & Field, 2002); the project implementation period which encompasses the construction systems (Fakhratov et al, 2020;Forteza et al, 2016;Jung et al, 2008;Zou et al, 2007;Haslam et al, 2005) and that concerned with social influence (Lucchi, 2020;Abbas et al, 2013;Salanova et al, 2007;Haslam et al, 2005;Úbeda de Mingo, 2002); and the period of use and maintenance which involve in new owners or users with the rules of coexistence (Tepeli et al, 2019). The documentary period is one of the fundamental parts of accident prevention, there being studies which indicate that more than 42% of designs may be related to accidents which occurred in the construction industry (Segarra et al, 2017;Jannadi & Almishari, 2003).…”

“…This influences the performance of the workers in delivering such work units, and, as a consequence, the budgetary progress of the project (Tepeli et al, 2019;Forteza et al, 2016;Jung et al, 2008;Zou et al, 2007;Haslam et al, 2005). The social period is where the interest, participation, motivation level and emotional state of the workers are defined as fundamental elements associated with the delivery of the units of work and the different construction systems (Lucchi, 2020;Fakhratov et al, 2020;Bhandari et al, 2020;Abbas et al, 2013;Salanova et al, 2007;Haslam et al, 2005;Úbeda de Mingo, 2002). The definitions that characterize both periods are clearly different: of technical and social consideration.…”

“…In the course of its activities, the enterprise uses all its sources of financial resources and fully covers reserves and costs, and this is the main thing. Since the stock of sources of own funds is a stock of financial stability of an enterprise, provided that its own funds exceed borrowed funds [12,13,14]. Financial stability ratios allow not only assessing one of the aspects of the financial condition of the enterprise.…”
