Determination of Energy of n n-Singlet Virtual State in $$\varvec{d+{{}^{2}}}\hbox {H}\varvec{\rightarrow p+p+n+n}$$ d + 2

Abstract: Determination of energy of nn-singlet virtual state in d+ 2 H  p+ p +n+n reactionAbstract The nn final state interaction has been investigated in d+ 2 H(pp) S +(nn) S p+p+n+n reaction going through a formation and breakup of singlet diproton and dineutron in the intermediate state. In the kinematically complete experiment performed at Ed =15 MeV two proton and neutron were detected at angles close to those of emission of (pp) S and (nn) S systems. Simulation of the reaction showed that the shape of neutron e… Show more

“…Figure 5a shows data on the nn scattering length that were obtained in the present study and in other studies devoted to the nd-and dd-breakup reactions [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. In [11], it was assumed that substantial discrepancies between experimental results from different studies may be explained by the effect of threenucleon (3N ) forces, which depend on the velocity at which the nn pair and the charged fragment fly apart.…”

“…Among them, the nd-and ddbreakup reactions are used most frequently to determine the nn scattering length. However, the data obtained on the nn scattering length in such reactions at different laboratories {TUNL [2,3], BONN [4,5], TUNL-BONN [6,7], and Institute for Nuclear Research (INR, Russian Academy of Sciences) [8][9][10]} after 1998 differ significantly.…”

“…In contrast to the truly bound state which behaves as a real particle, the virtual state is usually called the anti-bound state since its wave function is not localized [109]. But the virtual state can indeed induce observable effects, such as in the nuclear reactions [110,111] and the experimental lineshapes [112,113], etc. One can also find a new method to probe the virtual state pole using improved complex scaling method in Ref.…”
