Determination of Build-up Factors for Natural Black Obsidian Ores

Abstract: Bu çalışmada, Artvin ve Van yöresinden çıkarılan doğal siyah obsidyen cevherleri kullanılmıştır. Her iki obsidyen cevherinin kimyasal kompozisyonları, sırasıyla bir enerji ayırımlı X-ışını floresan spektrometresi (EDXRF) ile bir dalga boyu ayırımlı X-ışını floresan spektrometresi (WDXRF) kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Bu doğal örneklerin gama-ışını enerji soğurma yığılma faktörleri (EABF) ile doz yığılma faktörleri (EBF), 0,015-15 MeV foton enerji aralığında ve 0,5-40 mfp derinlik bölgesinde 16 çeşit nüfuz etme … Show more

“…Additionally, the obtained Zeff values of the Inconel-617 and Incoloy-800HT, are also higher than the Zeff values of RS 253 glass, ordinary concrete, hematite-serpenite and basaltmagnetite calculated by Alım [30] and hence, the alloys show dominating process at high energies is Pair production and a strong photon absorption is observed in this region. Therefore, at higher energies the buildup factors decrease [34,35]. The obtained values of EABF and EBF show that the photons cluster a little more for 800HT alloy than 617 alloy.…”

“…Apart from that, in Turkey; Obsidian ores were also found in Kars, Mount Ararat and its vicinity and Pasinler. Therefore, Turkey is a very rich country in terms of obsidian ore reserves (Küçük and Gezer 2017).…”
