“…In addition, the non-linear Jovanovic model provided satisfactory results with R 2 values of 0.91 and 0.87 and slightly underestimated theoretical q m values of about 6% and 8% compared to the experimental values for Ni 2+ and Pb 2+ , respectively. Thus, similar to the Langmuir model, the nonlinear Jovanovic model supported the localized monolayer adsorption of both metal ions onto EU-biochar without lateral interactions, suggesting the development of mechanical interactions between the adsorbed and desorbed molecules [67,68].…”

“…The suitability of the H-J model supports the multilayer adsorption of MB onto the Ec-bio with heterogeneous pore distribution, as also suggested by the Halsey and Freundlich isotherm models. Significantly close agreement of the Jovanovic isotherm to the adsorption data of the CV dye, with a high R 2 value (0.94) in the case of nonlinear fitting, suggested the localized monolayer adsorption of the CV dye onto the Ec-bio, as also suggested by the Langmuir isotherm, without lateral interactions, and suggests there are some mechanical interactions between the adsorbing and desorbing molecules [49,50]. As shown in Table 4, the model constant (K j , L g −1 ) was higher for the CV dye compared to the MB dye, while the theoretical q m value for the CV dye was in good agreement with the experimental value but that of the MB dye was underestimated using both nonlinear and linear fitting.…”
