“…Analytical methods based on immunoaffinity column clean-up and liquid chromatography represent the most recent and advanced tool for the determination of mycotoxins. Several articles reporting the use of these methods for determination of aflatoxins in feeds (Sharman & Gilbert, 1991) and different food matrices (Asis, Di Paola, & Aldao, 2002;Daradimos, Marcaki, & Koupparis, 2000;Patey, Sharman, & Gilbert, 1990;Stroka, Anklam, Jö rissen, & Gilbert, 2000, 2001 are available, but to our knowledge there was no report until now on the use of these specific methods for the determination of aflatoxins in food of animal origin, except aflatoxin M 1 in milk (Dragacci, Grosso, & Gilbert, 2001;Rodríguez Velasco, Calonge Delso, & Ordónez Escudero, 2003). In view of the information on the food of animal origin naturally contaminated with aflatoxins given by FAO (1998), it seems reasonable to provide a precise and reliable analytical method for the determination of aflatoxin B 1 in food of animal origin.…”
