“…In neonatal screening for thyroid disease, urinary levels of MIT have been detected using isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometry, with values of 0.5−26 μg/g creatinine. 179 This finding demonstrates the potential of using MIT levels in neonatal screening as a tool to assess thyroid health. Overall, the ELC pathway, while minor in comparison to other metabolic processes, plays a crucial role in iodine recycling and can provide valuable insights into certain thyroid disorders, such as congenital hypothyroidism.…”

“…Therefore, the level of MIT and DIT in urine could be helpful in clarifying whether disruption in iodine-recycle are responsible for hypothyroidism. “…Therefore, we performed the synthesis of natural and labelled angiotensin I (using 13 C 1 -L-valine) and the SPPS procedure [ 14 ] described. The synthesis products were characterized using the same LC conditions employed for the separation of amino acids.…”

“…The chromatographic separation of arginine, proline, valine, tyrosine, isoleucine, leucine and phenylalanine was carried out as butyl ester derivatives following a procedure described elsewhere [ 14 ].The experimental chromatographic conditions are shown in Table S1 of the Supporting Information. The same chromatographic conditions were employed for the separation of angiotensin I from its impurities.…”
