“…Eighty‐eight per cent of patients also said they would have the same reconstruction again. These results match those of other studies that have found high rates of patient satisfaction in those who choose to have breast reconstruction 25,35−37 . Women who undergo breast reconstruction usually have extensive interviews and counselling so perhaps it is not surprising that the successful procedures are associated with a high degree of patient satisfaction.…”

“…The comparison of different reconstruction types with respect to quality of life scores showed all groups to be similar. Previous studies regard implant and LDF reconstructions as inferior to fully autologous reconstructions (i.e., TRAM and the deep inferior epigastric perforator flaps) 17,19 , 20,53 . Although the numbers for subgroup analysis in the current study were relatively small, they allowed for satisfactory statistical analysis and objective quality of life assessment to suggest that they are equally worthy forms of reconstruction.…”

After AR, patients report greater satisfaction, better esthetic outcomes with fewer long‐term complications . Prosthetic reconstruction (implant) uses a breast implant to reconstruct the breast in two stages.…”
